<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher having high washing performance to wash various dishes including a cup, teacup, or the like put in a dish basket, while minimizing the increase in cost. <P>SOLUTION: An upper basket 32 is disposed with a plurality of rows of cup/teacup holders 33a and 33b for leaning and holding cup or teacup-like dishes, a predetermined cup/teacup holder of the plurality of rows of cup/teacup holders, is configured to rise and fall, and the predetermined cup/teacup holder is brought down to mount a large dish on the upper basket without substantial interference of the cup/teacup holder. At least one of the plurality of rows of cup/teacup holders is divided into a plurality of parts, and each of the divided parts are configured to rise and fall.
