The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for vacuum foaming a refrigerator cabinet. The apparatus for vacuum foaming a refrigerator cabinet comprises: a lower frame (201) arranged in the lower portion of the apparatus; a fixing frame (200) consisting of side frames (202) arranged at either side of the lower frame (201); a base frame (204) arranged on the upper surface of the lower frame (201); and a vacuum foaming case coupled to the fixing frame (200), wherein the vacuum foaming case includes a front plate (10), a rear plate (20), an upper plate (30), a lower plate (40) arranged on the base frame (204), and side plates (50) on either side. A side plate spacing motor (51) is arranged beneath the base frame (204) to adjust the spacing between the two side plates (50). An elevating cylinder (41) is arranged beneath the base frame (204) to elevate the base frame (204). A mixing head (21) is coupled to the rear plate (20). A front compression plate (11) is coupled behind the front plate (10) such that the front compression plate (11) is movable in the forward and backward directions. The front compression plate (11) moves backward from the front plate (10) so as to form a space for a product-foaming jig and seal the front surface of the product-foaming jig. According to the present invention, a foam expansion and rising phase may be significantly accelerated, and the hollow walls of the cabinet may be completely filled with the foam in a relatively short amount of time.
