The method involves producing a computer-available image of an object such that the produced image displays a label (Ett) on the object. Another computer-available image of the label is produced on the object by evaluation of the former image. A preset optically detected feature is measured by automatic evaluation of the latter produced image. A target point identification is determined and stored in connection with measured feature values. Continuation of transport of the object is triggered by using the determined target point identification. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for transporting an object to a target point.
