<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease wasteful consumption of consumables at a time of misprint caused by paper shortage in an image forming apparatus having a double-sided print function. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: at least one or more than one paper feed port for storing transfer material; transfer material detection means for detecting presence of the transfer material stored in the paper feed port; feed means for feeding the transfer material from the paper feed port; a double-sided conveyance path capable of holding at least one or more transfer materials; inversion means for inverting the transfer materials for double-sided printing and drawing the transfer materials into the double-sided conveyance path; double-sided conveyance path stand-by means for holding the transfer material in the double-sided conveyance path; and out-of-paper double-sided feed means for, upon the transfer material detection means' detection of absence of the transfer material in the feed port, transferring a toner image on an intermediate transfer body to the transfer material held preliminarily at the double-sided conveyance path by the double-sided conveyance path stand-by means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
