FIELD EMISSION TYPE LIGHT SOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FEL whose light emission intensity is difficult to deteriorate over time.

SOLUTION: A field emission type light source comprises: a cylindrical vacuum sealing container having an opening on at least one end face; an anode electrode arranged on an inner wall of the vacuum sealing container; a phosphor layer formed on the anode electrode, or between the inner wall of the vacuum sealing container and the anode electrode; a cathode electrode, which is arranged along a central axis of the vacuum sealing container, with an electron emission film comprising a nano diamond/carbon nano wall film formed on a surface of a substrate having a wire shape; and a stem sealing the opening.
