<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a demand response of an electrical device configured to receive electrical power from at least one of a power grid and a battery. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a power management device 114 for use with an electrical device 110 configured to receive electrical power from at least one of a power grid 104 and a battery 112, in which the power management device 114 comprises: a switch configured to selectively connect the electrical device 110 to the power grid 104 and the battery 112; and a processor coupled to the switch and configured to detect a demand event while the electrical device 110 is connected to the power grid 104, cause the switch to disconnect the electrical device 110 from the power grid 104 and enable the electrical device 110 to receive electrical power from the battery 112, and cause the switch to reconnect the electrical device 110 to the power grid 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
