<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface flaw detecting and indicating system that can automatically detect any surface flaw on a work piece, accurately and promptly indicating the position of the surface flaw while maintaining a safe environment for the worker and enabling him or her to smoothly accomplish subsequent corrective processing of the surface flaw, and a work piece manufacturing method involving surface treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A work piece having undergone surface treatment is placed within the operational range of a robot to have the surface of the work piece scanned and, if any surface flaw is detected, information to identify the position of the flaw is stored; after the scanning, the work piece is placed outside the operational range of the robot, and an indicator causes the position of the surface flaw to be irradiated with light on the basis of the information on the flaw position and, in addition, the surface region indicated by the irradiating light on the work piece is subjected to surface treatment again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
