<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably lock a rotation phase in a valve timing adjusting device that employs a working liquid supplied from a source along with the operation of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: A control valve 60 moves to a first region R1 to connect an advance port 661 and a lock port 663 to a main supply port 664 and an outlet opening 666 respectively, and moves to a second region Rf displaced in a second direction Y relative to the first region Rl to connect both the advance port 661 and the lock port 663 to the main supply port 664. The first region Rl is a locking region for locking the rotation phase to a regulation phase by the first main regulation member 32. The first region Rl has a throttling region that connects the advance port 661 communicating with an advance chamber 22 to the main supply port 664, to reduce the flow rate to be supplied to the advance chamber 22 to a flow rate lower than that in a movable end in the first direction X. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
