The packaging material (10) comprises an aluminum foil (12) as a water vapor barrier, which comprises a moisture regulating absorber layer (16) on a first side and is uncoated, coated, painted or laminated on a second side. The material is adjustable in a headspace of a package at a temperature of 5-50[deg] C and a relative humidity of 5-35%. An adhesion promoter layer is arranged between the aluminum foil and the moisture absorber layer. A sealing layer (18) is arranged on the moisture absorber layer. The foil is connected with a plastic film on the second side via an adhesive layer (24).
