The gear box (1) has a transverse bearing bore provided for a drive bearing of a driven shaft at two sides of bevel gears and set in a drive side chamber. The driven shaft is guided transverse to a drive shaft, and an electric motor (99) directly acts on or over an intermediate stage (9). An inner housing (4) is made of cast material and connected with an outer housing (2) in skeleton construction over bars (3, 3') without a cover. The bars are extended toward the driven shaft and bound with a smooth-walled through-hole (5). A longitudinal bearing hole arranges the bore in one of the bars.
