<p>A moving platform apparatus comprises a first end roller (200 fig. 4), a second end roller (201 fig. 4), an endless belt (101 fig. 4) extending between said first and second end rollers (200, 201 fig. 4) and a central section 302 comprising a resilient platform over which the endless belt (101 fig. 4) passes. The resilient platform may be in the form of a bed of flexible beams 905 extending across the width of a frame 302, each beam or lat 905 carrying a plurality of plates 906 forming a horizontal plane of tiles. The beams or lats 905 may be formed from carbon fibre. A shock absorbing resilient cushion 304 may be placed upon the plates 906, the cushion being formed from a layer of plastics and/or rubberized impact absorbing material and an external layer having a lower coefficient f friction. The apparatus may be formed from one or more releasably connectable frame sections 302 between first and second roller assemblies (300, 302 fig. 4). An electric motor may be positioned within the first end roller (200 fig. 4) to reduce noise. The moving platform may be used by persons such as contestants in television game shows.</p> |
