The device (2) has CPU subassemblies (10, 11) determining total power requirement from information relating to power requirement of power supply assemblies (8,9) and peripheral, functional and communication subassemblies (12, 13). The CPU subassemblies compare the total power requirement with a threshold value and initiate measures to reduce the power requirement based on comparison result. A position sensor (22) detects position of the device at an installation or erection site of the device. One of the CPU subassemblies (11) predefines and determines the value based on the position.
