<p>The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for channel estimation in a multi-carrier transmission system involving pilot patterns. A channel estimation (701) is performed at pilot positions of the pilot pattern to obtain first channel estimates. Then, a robust interpolation (7021) with predetermined fixed coefficients is used to provide a mismatched interpolation or interpolator for sub-carriers with missing pilot signals to obtain second channel estimates. The first channel estimates are improved by applying adaptive noise suppression (7023) at the pilot positions to obtain improved first channel estimates which are used for compensation (7024) of mismatches of the second channel estimates.</p> |
