<p>A method for determining if there is a wireless subscriber unit in a wireless communication system interested in receiving a broadcast service is described. The method comprises: transmitting a request message; seeking in response to the request message a response signal from a wireless subscriber unit wherein the response signal is independent of whether the wireless subscriber unit is in an idle state or a network connected state; and determining whether there is a wireless subscriber unit interested in receiving the broadcast service based on whether a response signal is detected.</p> |
