A thermal insulation blanket for use in transporting cargo comprises a main panel 22 and a plurality of wing panels 24, 26 extending therefrom, the main panel being adapted to overlie the cargo or container in use and the wing panels being adapted to wrap around the sides of the cargo to surround at least a portion of the cargo; each wing panel having an edge which in use meets an edge of an adjacent wing panel to define a corner where the edges meet the main panel, wherein the thermal blanket is provided with at least one corner insulation panel 24a, 26a which, in use, provides additional insulation at at least one of the corners. The corner insulation panel is preferably in the form of a tab 24b projecting from the edge of the wing panel and which, in use, overlaps at least a portion of an adjacent wing panel and the main panel. Hook and loop fasteners may be provided for securing adjacent wing panels together. The thermal insulation blanket preferably only provides a top blanket covering the top and sides of a container and a further base insulation blanket may be provided to cover the base and sides of the container. |
