<p>A display element (10) comprises a segmented numerical display (12) having a plurality of individually operable display segments (20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30), and at least one permanently visible indicator marking (14, 16, 18) which is arranged in proximity to the segmented numerical display so as to be pointed to by one of the display segments (20, 22, 24) when such display segment is illuminated. The segmented numerical display thus has the double function of providing for a numerical or alphanumerical display and additionally of acting as a pointer for a permanently visible indicator marking that is provided in proximity of the segmented numerical display.</p> |
