PURPOSE: A flexible display device and manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase productivity and stability of a TFT process by forming an etching preventing layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: An etching preventing layer(120) where a ductile substrate(160) is installed is formed on a side of a non-ductile substrate(110). A display element(130) including a barrier film(140) is formed on a side of the etching preventing layer. The non-ductile substrate is removed by a wet etching.
