PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided to easily transmitting and receiving signal by approaching the mobile terminal near the user's ear. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit(110) transceives a call. If the call is received through the wireless communication unit, a control unit(180) operates a grip sensor(142) and a proximity sensor(141). If the grip sensor senses the grip of the user and the proximity sensor senses the distance between the user and the user terminal(100), the control unit connects the signal.
