PURPOSE: A dual bipolar magnetic field for a rotary high-voltage contactor in a lithium-ion battery system for a vehicle is provided to overcome bias constructed by magnetic force guided by a plunger of a solenoid. CONSTITUTION: A dual bipolar magnetic field for a rotary high-voltage contactor in a lithium-ion battery system for a vehicle comprises a solenoid, a contact plate(34), multiple terminals(32), and multiple magnets(38). The solenoid comprises a coil(22) and a plunger. The plunger rotatably responds to current flowing through the coil. The multiple terminals are interlocked with the solenoid and the contact plate. If power is supplied to the solenoid, the rotating motion of the plunger allows the contact plate to be connected to the multiple terminals, thereby completing an electric circuit between the contact plate and the multiple terminals. The multiple magnets are arranged near section at least partially defined by the contact between the contact plate and the multiple terminals.
