PURPOSE: A pen touch recognition method for a device and an apparatus thereof are provided to easily distinguish between an intended touch or a unintended touch, thereby reliability of sensing of a input signal on a touch screen. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(40) stores palm touch information, fixed as a standard value for distinguishing a palm touch, and critical information which is a standard value for making the palm touch invalid. If a pen touch and the palm touch are inputted at the same time, a controller(70) distinguishes the pen touch from the palm touch and eliminates an Input by the palm touch, and then processes only an input by the pen touch as a valid input. The controller controls the generation and the storage of palm touch information according to a user definition in a palm touch setting mode.
