PURPOSE: A backlighting unit with a fluorescent film structure is provided to form a fluorescent film structure on a location into or from which light is incident or emitted, thereby changing the wavelength of light. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent film structure(30) is separated from a light emitting diode. A diffusing plate(70) is separated from the fluorescent film structure. The fluorescent film structure is arranged between the light emitting diode and the diffusing plate. The thickness of a light transmitting plate is set to mix light of the light emitting diode with the wavelength changed light. The fluorescent film structure includes first and second fluorescent films.
