PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device and an operating method thereof are provided to improve operation efficiency by using information about a suspend operation when an operation is resumed. CONSTITUTION: A command decoder(30) generates a decoded command signal, a suspend pulse, and a resume pulse. A storage unit(60) stores the decoded command signal, a data signal, and a decoded address signal in response to the suspend pulse. The storage unit respectively provides the decoded address signal, the decoded command signal, and the decoded data signal as a storage address signal, a storage command signal, and a storage data signal in response to the resume pulse.
