PURPOSE: A mechanical pencil is provided to conveniently introduce pencil lead by forming a pencil lead introducing space at the lateral side of the mechanical pencil. CONSTITUTION: A mechanical pencil is composed of a cover(1), a pencil lead introducing space(2), and pencil lead(3). The pencil lead introducing space is formed at the lateral side of the mechanical pencil. The cover blocks the pencil lead introducing space by being shaped in a slide form. The cover is attached to the lateral side of the mechanical pencil.
