PURPOSE: An electronic frame for monitoring adjacent environment and control method thereof are provided to transmit video information to a portable terminal by confirming the movement change of an object in indoor environment. CONSTITUTION: A photographing unit(110) captures adjacent environment and objects. An information input unit(120) creates sound information. The information input unit receives external sound information for enabling a user to control a system from outside. A control unit(130) executes a monitoring mode based on the video information and the sound information. When an event is generated, a communication unit(140) transmits the video information and the sound information to an external apparatus. A display unit(150) outputs the video information to outside.
