PURPOSE: An electric vehicle and a fault diagnosing method thereof are provided to enable a driver to stably drive an electric vehicle by preventing malfunction of the electric vehicle due to the fault of a main control unit. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(110) generates a sensing signal for controlling an electric vehicle(100). An operating unit(120) includes an input unit which inputs a preset signal by the operation of a driver. An output unit(130) includes an output unit which outputs operation information about the electric vehicle. A motor control unit(150) generates a control signal for controlling the driving of a motor(160). A power source(140) charges a battery using power from the outside.
