FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of determining free salicylic acid in aspirin involves preparation of the analysed sample, involving transfer of salicylic acid into a solution by dissolving the analysed sample in glacial acetic acid and bringing the obtained solution to a defined volume by adding distilled water. The sample is put into an amperometric cell containing a photogenerated amount of bromine. Change in current flowing through the cell is recorded and salicylic acid is determined from a calibration curve. ^ EFFECT: simple method, wider range of analytical methods of determining partially water-soluble organic acids in aspirin. ^ 2 tbl, 2 dwg
