<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque abnormality detection device for detecting an abnormal load torque imparted on a power source, and to provide a transport device. <P>SOLUTION: The torque abnormality detection device 10 has a load torque estimation means 12 for estimating a load torque imparted on the power source, and a load torque abnormality detection means 13 for detecting an abnormality of a load torque imparted on the power source on the basis of the load torque estimated by the load torque estimation means 12 while power transmission to an outside 60 of a system is disconnected by power transmission means 30, 30a, 50, 55. Because power transmission to the outside 60 of the system is disconnected, there is no influence due to a variation or change of the outside 60 of the system.
