<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instantaneous force generator which can generate an instantaneous force by small torque, and an instantaneous force generation method. <P>SOLUTION: A jumping robot 1 which is one embodiment of the instantaneous force generator includes a band-shaped elastic body 3, a frame member 2 for fixing one end of the elastic body 3, and a drive member 4 which is attached to the frame member 2 so as to be turnable and to which the other end of the elastic body 3 is fixed. Then, when the elastic body 3 is warped due to the turn of the drive member 4, and elastic energy accumulated in the elastic body 3 reaches a prescribed value or higher, the frame member 2 is elastically deformed by the elastic energy of the elastic body 3, and there occurs snap buckling at the elastic body 3 by the succeeding turn of the drive member 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
