<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for setting video recording reservation, enabling video recording setting for multi-channel simultaneous video recording with high flexibility and easy operation, so as to enable convenient user handling suitable for practical use. <P>SOLUTION: The video recording setting apparatus includes video recording means, generation means and setting means. The video recording means simultaneously records programs of a plurality of channels, based on video recording reservation. The generation means generates a video recording reservation screen in which an axis having a cell of each day of the week and an axis having a cell of each time zone are arrayed in a matrix form. When a unit region indicated by a day of the week and a time zone is selected and determined on the video recording reservation screen, the setting means sets video recording reservation related to the day of the week and the time zone corresponding to the unit region.
