<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can determine the amount of the ink remaining in an ink cartridge when the amount of the ink in the ink cartridge is kept as near to zero as possible, and facilitate positioning of the ink cartridge relative to a cartridge attachment part. <P>SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 30 includes a valve 70 which can move to an opening position for opening an ink supply port 71 and to a closing position for closing the ink supply port 71 liquid-tightly. The valve 70 can allow light 60 radiated on a light emission part 114 to pass there-through. The valve has a first inclined surface 82 and a second inclined surface 81 which are different in a reflective rate R1 reflecting the light 60 when the valve is in contact with the ink stored in an ink chamber 36 and in a reflective rate R2 reflecting the light 60 when the valve is not in contact with the ink stored in the ink chamber 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
