<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of displaying an observation image without making an operator feel discomfort as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus according to present invention includes: an insertion section having, at the distal end, an imaging part that captures an image of a subject and outputs an imaging signal; an optical adapter part configured to have an information storage part that stores information related to a visual filed direction of an optical lens part capable of acquiring an image of the subject; a displacement detecting part for detecting a displacement of the distal end; a signal processing part for generating image data based on the imaging signal; an image processing part for rotating the observation image so as to match a vertical direction with a reference direction when the observation image according to the image data is displayed; an arithmetic processing part for calculating attitude information indicating a current attitude of the distal end based on the detection result of the displacement detecting part; and a determining part for determining whether or not the reference direction can be set in a gravity direction based on the information stored in the information storage part and the calculation result of the attitude information in the arithmetic processing part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
