摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substantially vertical alignment type liquid crystal device having a stabilized initial alignment state of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer, and to provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device, and electronic equipment including the liquid crystal device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 100 includes: a liquid crystal layer 50 comprising liquid crystal molecules having negative dielectric anisotropy and held between a pair of substrates; a pixel electrode 15 and a common electrode 23 made of a metal oxide essentially comprising indium, respectively provided on the pair of substrates; inorganic alignment layers 18, 24 respectively provided on the pixel electrode 15 and the common electrode 23, for imparting a pretilt angle to the liquid crystal molecules to vertically align the molecules; and alignment control films 19, 25 comprising a photopolymerized product of a liquid crystal monomer having a reactive mesogen and formed between the inorganic alignment layers 18, 24 and the liquid crystal layer 50. In a step of forming the alignment control films, the liquid monomer is polymerized by irradiation with light in a heated state of the liquid crystal layer 50 to a temperature higher than normal temperature and lower than the NI (nematic-isotropic transition) point where the liquid crystal layer 50 transits into an isotropic phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
