At least two tracer pins (64a-64e), which can be jointly deflected relative to the sensor (70) and the tracer pin longitudinal axes of which are oriented in different directions, are used in succession for contacting, wherein contact points of the calibration object (71) are contacted by the at least two tracer pins (64a-64e), wherein the tracer pins (64a-64e) are deflected relative to the sensor (70) when the calibration object (71) is contacted, wherein the sensor signals corresponding to a deflection of the tracer pins (64a-64e) during contacting are produced using the sensor (70), and wherein the calibration parameters of the sensor (70) are determined from the sensor signals and from information about the location of each contact point contacted by one of the tracer pins (64a-64e) in a optimization calculation common to the tracer pins (64a-64e).
