<p>Connecting two molded parts to form a component e.g. a hood of a bodywork of a vehicle, which at their edges are connected with each other by a folded joint and by an adhesive, comprises applying adhesive at least along the edge of one molded part, and crimping the edge of an outer molded part (1) around the edge of another inner molded part (2). The outer molded part rests on a folding board, on which adhesive is cured in further process step. The edge region of inner molded part to be crimped comprises holes that are respectively spaced from each other and are arranged at fixed positions. Connecting two molded parts to form a component e.g. a door or a hood of a bodywork of a vehicle, which at their edges are connected with each other by a folded joint and by an adhesive, comprises applying an adhesive at least along the edge of one molded part, and crimping the edge of an outer molded part around the edge of another inner molded part. The outer molded part rests on a folding board, on which the adhesive is cured in a further process step. The edge region of the inner molded part to be crimped comprises holes (3) that are respectively spaced from each other and are arranged at fixed positions. A riveting punch arranged on a tool and the holes arranged on the crimped edge of the outer molded part are positioned relative to each other after applying the adhesive and after the crimping of the edge of the outer molded part around the edge of the inner molded part. The material from the crimped edge of the outer molded part is pressed into the holes of the edge of the inner molded part using the riveting punch. An independent claim is also included for a device for connecting two molded parts to form a component, comprising a punch tool arranged on a three-dimensionally movable tool.</p> |
