METHOD, DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING MULTI-VIEW CODING (MVC) CODE STREAM

A method, device and system for transmitting a multi-view coding (MVC) code stream. The transmission method comprises: a transmitter transmitting the overall information about an MVC code stream when transmitting same, the overall information including the total number of MVC views available for watching and the descriptive information about each MVC view; a receiver receiving and caching the overall information about the MVC code stream and displaying the same according to an instruction allowing the user to see the views available for watching, so as to allow the user to select a view to watch. The method can provide users with excellent play and optional play-on-demand functions, improving user experience and saving transmission resources.
