PURPOSE: An expandable network management system and a method thereof are provided to efficiently manage a sensor network using an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) managing program. CONSTITUTION: A network management agent(202) converts a message into a shared memory data 1 by analyzing a requested message. A sensor network agent(203) converts the shared memory data 1 into a sensor network request message. The sensor network agent converts a sensor network response message into the shared memory data 2. The network management agent converts the shared memory data 2 into the SNMP response message.
