LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having favorable display qualities.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposing to each other at a predetermined distance; a spacer disposed on the first substrate in a side opposing to the second substrate, the spacer supporting the second substrate and forming a cell gap between the first substrate and the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer held in the cell gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, to which a vertical electric field formed between the first substrate and the second substrate is applied; a wall part formed on the first substrate in the side opposing to the second substrate, disposed in a periphery of each pixel and parting from the second substrate to form a gap between the wall and the second substrate; and an alignment layer covering the spacer and the wall part.
