<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dress a grinding wheel at an adequate timing with an adequate dressing amount. <P>SOLUTION: A grinding device in one embodiment includes a working unit having a tool 7 including a grinding wheel 72 for grinding a workpiece W held by a holding table 3, and a rotary spindle 622 for rotatably supporting the tool 7, and a dressing unit 9 for dressing the grinding wheel 72. The dressing unit 9 includes a dressing part 91 having a dressing surface 911, a moving unit 92 for selectively positioning the dressing part 91 to the working position at which the dressing surface 911 is brought into contact with the grinding wheel 72 during the grinding, and the non-working position at which the dressing surface 911 is not brought into contact with the grinding wheel 72 during the grinding work, a current detection unit 93 for detecting the current value to be supplied for the rotation of the rotary spindle 622, and a control unit 94 for controlling the moving unit 92 so that the dressing part 91 is positioned to the working position when the current value detected by the current detection unit 93 exceeds the preset threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
