<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to be less likely to miss a desired program. <P>SOLUTION: A person who is viewing a program displayed on an LCD panel of a digital television 1 is identified from video captured by a camera device 60 (person identification means 234), the program being viewed is stored in association with the identified person as a view history (view history storage means 235), a recommendation program similar to programs viewed by the person in the past is searched for from program guide data using a keyword based on the view history stored in association with the person who is viewing the program, and a program proposal message for proposing the recommendation program is generated (program proposal means 237) and output to the LCD panel of the digital television 1 (output signal processing means 21).
