<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which allows miniaturization of a mechanism for adjusting the tilt of the imaging surface of an imaging element, thereby miniaturizing a lens barrel and, as its turn, miniaturization of an imaging apparatus, and improving operability when adjusting the tilt of the imaging surface of the imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: a holding plate 21 which holds the imaging element and has positioning holes 24a and 24b; a barrel body 22 provided with shafts 31 and 32 to which the positioning holes 24a and 24b are fitted; an elastic tube 29 which urges the holding plate 21 in a direction of separating from the barrel body 22 in an optical axis direction; and a screw 28 which fixes the holding plate 21 to the barrel body 22 against the elastic force of an elastic tube 29 such that the tilt angle of the holding plate 21 with respect to the optical axis can be adjusted.
