<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely detect a focal point even if a phase difference of an image signal is increased in a focal point detecting device of a phase difference detecting type. <P>SOLUTION: A focal point detecting device detects a phase difference between a pair of image signals that are acquired with phase difference detecting pixels provided in a pair of line sensors or an image pickup element to detect a subject distance and a defocus amount. A section used for acquiring a correction value out of the pair of image signals is determined using a differential image signal. The phase difference of focal point detecting amounts is calculated using an image signal corrected by the correction value that is determined using the image signal of the determined section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
