<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device whose power consumption is reduced even when a user wears the device. <P>SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 106 detects acceleration in a first direction and outputs a first signal. An acceleration sensor 107 detects acceleration in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and outputs a second signal. An acceleration sensor 108 detects acceleration in a third direction orthogonal to a plane uniquely specified by the first direction and the second direction and outputs a third signal. A CPU 102 obtains one or plural signals among the first signal, the second signal and the third signal and detects walking using the obtained signals. The CPU 102 determines a position of its own device on the basis of an average movement value of the first signal, an average movement value of the second signal and an average movement value of the third signal.
