<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing cap which can reduce stress acting on a bulk head from a crankshaft via the bearing cap while securing the rigidity of the bearing cap. <P>SOLUTION: In the bearing cap (11) which rotatably supports the crankshaft by being bolt-fastened to the bulk head (2) of a cylinder block (1), expanded parts (61, 62) outwardly projected from both side faces (33, 34) of the bearing cap are formed at both ends of the bearing cap including a joining face (12) joined with the bulk head (2), and the expanded parts (61, 62) have first expanded parts (25, 26) which are formed at the joining face (12) joined with the bulk head (2), and second expanded parts (36, 37) which are smaller than the first expanded parts (25, 26) in projection amount, and formed at the side of a bolt head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
