PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device that does not bother a user and reduces discomfort of a user when a specific abnormality occurs.

SOLUTION: An electronic device 1 includes: an abnormality detection part 12 that detects the specific abnormality of the electronic device 1; a control part 10 that controls respective parts in the electronic device 1; and a sleep control part 16 that controls operation in a normal mode for supplying drive power to the respective parts in the electronic device 1 and operation in a sleep mode for cutting off the supply of drive power at least to the control part 10, and causes the electronic device 1 to shift from the normal mode to the sleep mode when the abnormality detection part 12 detects the specific abnormality of the electronic device 1 in the normal mode.
