<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injector 1 capable of avoiding such an occurrence likely to be turned apparent in the course of propagation of the injection pressure becoming higher, as a drop of the pressure resisting performance of each projection generated by connection of a sack hole with a side flow passage and enlargement of the sliding clearance formed at the periphery of a nozzle needle 7. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical member 37 to support the nozzle needle 7 slidably is furnished with a high pressure passage 40 of annular form at the nozzle-side in the area relative to the nozzle body 8, in which the high pressure passage 40 of annular form at the nozzle-side is in communication with an inclined high pressure passage 47 in the body 3. The cylindrical member 37 is put in pressure contact with the forefront in axial direction of the body 3 by a thrust force generated by screw-tightening of a box nut 45, to form a nozzle-side low pressure passage 46. To the nozzle-side low pressure passage 46, the fuel turned in low pressure flows in from the high pressure passage 40 at the nozzle-side via the sliding clearance 39.
