Organic tetracyano-, tricyanofluoro-, dicyanodifluoro- and cyanotrifluoro-borates (I) are new, with the exception of tetrabutylammonium tetracyanoborate (IA). Organic tetracyano-, tricyanofluoro-, dicyanodifluoro- and cyanotrifluoro-borates of formula (I) are new. Kt+ (BFn(CN)4-n)- (I) n = 0, 1, 2 or 3; and Kt+ = an organic cation with the exception of tetrabutylammonium tetracyanoborate (IA) of formula (I; where n = 0; and Kt+ = (N(C4H9)4)+). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) preparation of (I), except (IA); (2) preparation of alkali metal tetracyanoborates (II); (3) preparation of alkali metal tetracyano-, tricyanofluoro-, dicyanodifluoro- and cyanotrifluoro-borates (III). |
