A hair treatment agent, comprising in a cosmetically acceptable carrier (i) at least one trialkoxysilane of the formula (I), where R1 is a (C1 to C4) alkyl group, R2 is a (C1 to C18) alkyl group, a (C1 to C4) alkenyl group or a group R'R"N-(CH2)n-* where n = 1, 2 or 3, R' and R" independently from each other are a hydrogen atom or a (C1 to C3) alkyl group, and (ii) at least one further compound selected among organic amines comprising 2 to 20 carbon atoms, carboxylate complex compounds of tin, alkoxide compounds of tin, carboxylate complex compounds of lead, organoaluminum compounds, metal complexes of organic dicarbonyl compounds, metal complexes of organic dicarboxylic acid ester, causes excellent fixation of styled hair. A hairstyle which can withstand washing is obtained.
