<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the surface roughness of a metal product, surely form uniform nano-scale microstructures on a surface layer, and form a surface layer robust enough not to disappear due to wear on the surface layer. <P>SOLUTION: Instantaneous rapid heating and rapid cooling are repeatedly performed on the surface of the metal product by intermittently ejecting onto the surface of the metal product a mixture of three or more shots with approximate particle sizes in high ejection density, thereby forming uniform microstructures near the surface of the metal product and at the same time forming dimples with a micro-diameter on the metal surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
