<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of misfire when changing the combustion mode in a compression ignition type internal combustion engine for selectively executing any one of the normal combustion mode or the low air-fuel ratio combustion mode for the combustion mode. <P>SOLUTION: When changing the combustion mode from the normal combustion mode to the low air-fuel ratio combustion mode, an EGR valve is closed after increasing the opening of the throttle valve temporarily, and then, the opening of the throttle valve is reduced below that in the normal combustion mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
