<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an exposure control value suited for recognition of a target in such a manner that an influence of an environment, in which the target is picked up, is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: After a target is detected from an image picked up by a camera under a state where the target is arranged in a picking-up range (S14 to S16), brightness of the detected target in the picked-up image is measured and an exposure control value for setting the measured brightness at a target value suited for recognition of the target is calculated (S17). With this determining method, the target is first detected from the picked-up image and then the brightness of the target is measured, which makes it possible to calculate the exposure control value based on the brightness of the target measured under a state where a background is not included. Consequently, it becomes possible to determine the exposure control value suited for the recognition of the target in such a manner that an influence of an environment, in which the target is picked up, is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
